What we make
All pieces are one-of-a-kind, hand-turned wood. Natural variation in colour and grain is expected. Wood is a natural material and can move or crack over time, especially with changes in temperature or humidity. Please follow the common sense care guidance of ensuring your wooden product remains dry (not damp) and out of harsh, direct sunlight, or wide temperature fluctuations.
Forming the contract
Your contract with us is formed at the point of payment in full. For ready-made pieces bought online or off-premises, you still have the statutory right to change your mind within 14 days of delivery (explained below).
How to buy

Sales channels: our website or in person at events and craft fairs.

Payment: card only, via our online checkout or card reader. Full payment up front is required.

UK only: we accept orders for delivery within the United Kingdom.

Order acceptance: your order is confirmed once we have received payment.
Delivery and collection

Options and prices are shown at checkout or agreed in person.

UK delivery only. You may also collect by prior arrangement.

Risk passes to you on delivery or collection. Please inspect items promptly and contact us within 48 hours if there is transit damage so we can assist with the courier claim.
Ready-made items: your 14-day change-of-mind right

Online or distance sales: you have 14 days from the day after you receive the item to cancel, under the UK’s 2015 Consumer Rights Act.

In-person at craft fairs: most fair purchases are legally “off-premises.” If your total spend is over £42, you also have a 14-day cancellation right. If £42 or less, there is no statutory cooling-off right.

Condition and timing: items must be returned within 14 further days, unused and in as-new, re-saleable condition.

Return postage: if you change your mind, you pay the return postage. Use a tracked, insured service and keep proof of posting. The item is your responsibility until received by us.

Refunds: we refund the item price and the standard outbound delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the item back in as-new, resaleable condition. If you paid for a faster or timed delivery service, we only refund the cost of standard delivery.

We may deduct for any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to check the item.
Bespoke commissions

Bespoke or personalised pieces are made to your specification.

No 14-day cancellation right applies once we start work or after delivery.

Orders for bespoke pieces are non-cancellable and non-refundable except where we are in breach of contract.

Measurements and specs: you are responsible for providing accurate measurements and specifications.
If something is wrong
Your statutory rights apply under the UK’s Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a product is faulty, you may be entitled to repair, replacement or refund depending on the circumstances and timing. Contact us and we will help.
What is not a fault
Natural variation in wood, minor dimensional tolerances, colour change as the piece matures, and age-related movement or cracking caused by environmental conditions are not defects. Damage caused by misuse or not following care instructions below is not a defect.
Returns process
Contact us to obtain return instructions. Pack items securely in original or equivalent protective packaging. You are responsible for the goods until we receive them.
Care Instructions and Safety
Avoid extremes of heat, any humidity, and direct sunlight. Use only recommended finishes or oils. Do not use in dishwashers, ovens, or microwaves.
F0r candlesticks, never burn them unsupervised, and do not allow candles to burn down to the level of the wood.
Intellectual property
All designs, product descriptions and photographs are the intellectual property of Wealden Wood Design. Purchasing a piece does not grant any right to reproduce or commercially exploit our designs or images.
Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are responsible only for losses that are foreseeable and caused by our breach. We are not liable for loss arising from your misuse of the product or failure to follow care instructions, or for any business losses.
Privacy
We process your personal data as set out in our Privacy Notice.
Complaints and disputes
If you have a complaint, contact us. Alternative dispute resolution is available if desired. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You may bring claims in the courts of the UK nation where you live.
