About Theo Jaques.
Theo is a Sussex-based wood designer, finishing A-levels in Design & Technology, Engineering, and French, while building a reputation for creating distinctive, hand-turned pieces.
Alongside his studies, he is also a qualified tree surgeon, giving him a deep connection to the materials he works with.
He never cuts healthy trees for his creations: each piece comes from timber at the end of its natural life or from trees brought down by storms. This careful sourcing of wood that is often hundreds of years old means his designs are grounded in a respect for the local landscape they come from, so they can become a treasured part of your home for decades to come.
Each item Theo makes is one-of-a-kind, designed to showcase the character and uniqueness of the wood itself.
From elegant bowls to striking lamps, Theo’s work balances function with beauty. His pieces are timeless reminders of the resilience and character of wood - with each piece carrying its own story.
